When I was a boy my parents had a subscription to National Geographic. I loved the photos of exotic people, places, and animals and I dreamed that one day I, too, could make such images. In my teens I got my first real camera, a Kowa SE, a big step up from my mother's Brownie Six-16. I learned how to develop film and make prints. I made a great effort to learn everything about photography. Soon I was off to college and became a poor student, unable to afford photography, but it remained a passion. After graduation I returned to it, but the realities of making a living and raising a family again put photography on the back burner. Now I am retired and I have returned to my long smoldering love of a well crafted...
